Welcome to NOVEMBER 2020.
You may have heard about NaNoWriMo… when you dedicate November to writing your 50,000-word novel…
…but in Courageous Wordsmith Collective, we’re feeling the call to slow WAY down this year, while still writing.
None of us needs to be on the hamster wheel right now.
So we’re offering a different kind of challenge. Welcome to
SLOW-vember and our December Presence Exchange in the Courageous Wordsmith FREE Writers’ Salon.
In addition to daily prompts, each Tuesday through November we’ll suggest ONE simple pre-writing step and invite you to post your response in the Salon—photos please.
Then in December we’ll challenge you to write and post ONE NEW PIECE that wants to be written, between 500 and 1500 words, anytime in the month. (After the first draft, word count’s waived within reason.) Visuals welcome.
(Family Holiday letter, anyone?)
One request: after you post, we ask that you comment on 2+ people’s posts.
ONCE you post the first draft, you are welcome to repost a REVISION of the same piece, based on comments received, up to one draft a week.
This means that if you start December 1, you could potentially get feedback on four subsequent versions of the same piece, go deeper, and polish it up.
Are you in? First SIMPLE STEP is already posted.
